Nokia 7.1 Plus launched with a starting price of €249, available for pre-orders

Nokia 7.1 had been launched today in Europe and is rumored to launch in India this October 11th. Here is the whole gist of the launch. You can skip to the end for the Nokia 7.1 specifications and the images.

The event started with Florian, CEO of Nokia stating that Nokia is now one of top 5 mobile vendors in Europe making them one of the fastest growing players in the market and are thankful to their fanbase.
Talking about Nokia mobiles, Florian says Nokia 5 Plus and Nokia6 Plus were sold out every single time they went on sale in India, where they were first launched. Says they’ve been working with all leading telecom operators in offering better services (in Europe).


Juho Sarvikas, Cheif Product Officer of Nokia-HMD comes to the stage and starts his talk saying that three are three fundamental things that make Nokia stand apart from the crowd are Design and Craftsmanship ( the heritage Nokia build quality ), Real life performance and Best of Google ( Pure and secure Android, AndroidOne).


Talking about Nokia differentiation from others brands, starting with Nokia 7 Plus, their affordable flagship segment phone year which won multiple awards claimed to receive Android 9.0 Pie update recently and their Snapdragon 600 series phones will be updated this October, their flagships Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 Sirocco this November. Juho adds that they will continue this rapid deployment across all their mobile phone range.


Here comes hero of the day, the Nokia 7.1 the new addition of their affordable flagship range.

Talking about the build, it comes with a solid Aluminium 600 series anodized solid build. It comes in two variants: Gloss Midnight Blue, Gloss Steel.


To the internals, starting with the camera from the rear, it comes with a dual-camera setup, the application Zeiss lens with a 12-megapixel primary sensor, dual LED flash, f/1.8 aperture,1.28 um pixel size paired with a 5-megapixel depth sensing rear camera, f/2.4 aperture, 1.12um pixel size.
Talking about the features, it has 12MP Camera has two phase detection with faster autofocus, True to Life HDR, an Effortless Bokeh effect, the Nokia ProCamera, inbuilt-Live Streaming with AI Filters and the Bothie feature in Live videos and other enhancements.


Nokia 7.1 comes with a Full-HD 5.84 Display HDR10-Compliant Display as the Nokia 6.1 but with PureDisplay technology which has HDR support with 500M pixels processed per second and 1M:1 dynamic ratio during video playback. The more striking features of their display are SDR to HDR conversion, which as the name says converts SDR to HDR content in real time and automatically adjust the screen HDR tone mapping. They also quoted Sunlight readability as one of the features of the display.


To the performance, it comes with Snapdragon 636 platform and Aluminium for its better performance and better battery than its older version. It comes with the latest Android 9.0 Pie.

Richard, Senior director from Google, Android comes up to the stage talking about features of the AndroidOne on the Nokia 7.1. Talks about the Adaptive brightness, Adaptive Battery and the latest Digital Wellbeing application first on the Nokia 7.1. The Digital Wellbeing as the name says comes with controlling of device usage by you, for your wellbeing.


He adds, like all AndroidOne devices, Nokia 7.1 will receive monthly security updates for 3 years and Android OS Updates for 2 years. from will be able to use all AR apps seamlessly and is Android Enterprise application.

Juho comes back to the stage and announces two Nokia Companion Products: Nokia True Wireless Earbuds and Pro Wireless Earphones.


The Nokia True Wireless Earbuds weigh only 5grams each, provide crystal clear audio and also supports voice calls. They are splash and sweatproof, provide 16-hours of audio playback with the pocketcase. ANd the 
Pro Wireless Earphones from you a 10-hours of audio playback on a single charge.

Sarah Edge, General Manager of Nokia UK and Ireland comes up to stage to address about the application of the products. Nokia 7.1 will be available for pre-order from tomorrow i.e October 5th in Europe and next-week for rest of the world including the US. The European pre-order customers will be getting the True Wireless Earbuds for free. Apart from the pre-orders, the device will be on sale from this month end in Europe with prices ranging from 299 € -349 € (Euros) depending on your location and it goes on sale from 17th October in UK priced at 299 Pounds.  The Nokia True Wireless Earbuds are priced at 129 Euros and Pro Wireless Earphones are priced at 69 Euros.
